2016 NFL DRAFT

Kansas City Chiefs fans were pretty pissed off all throughout the 2016 NFL Draft. For one, the Chiefs traded out of the first round, which upset people at watch parties, but who cares? The Chiefs went out and drafted Chris Jones in the second round and he’s turned out to be a steal.

In the third round, KeiVarae Russell was drafted and he’s since been released from the team. As shocking as it was, there had to have been something to it. Third rounders don’t just get cut from teams before the regular season even starts.

Jones has looked solid though and Ehinger was on his way to a nice season before getting injured.

Parker Ehinger was a fourth rounder in 2016 and he was looking decent at left guard until he got injured in Indianapolis. He’ll miss the rest of his rookie campaign.

Eric Murray has mostly been active on special teams, but hasn’t been mentioned much. That might be a good thing honestly. Demarcus Robinson has been non-existent, DJ White got some starting time, including getting torched on Sunday Night Football in Pittsburgh, and Dadi Nicolas could end up being a star someday.

Kevin Hogan was cut before the season began and actually played for the Cleveland Browns this year.

Lastly, there’s Tyreek Hill.

Just because you’re good at football doesn’t mean the past is erased and people should forget about it.

Hill was not a popular draft pick, and it’s been weird watching him play this year. Every time he does something good, it’s tough for me and others to cheer him on when we know what he did in the past.

I will never root for Tyreek Hill as a person, but I can’t argue the fact that he’s a talented football player and has done well for the Kansas City Chiefs.

I’ve had people comment on my stuff before, angry with me for not supporting him. If you want to root for Tyreek Hill, that’s your decision. You have that right, just as much as I have the right to not root for him. I can’t condone doing what he did and I still wish the Chiefs hadn’t drafted him.

Just because you’re good at football doesn’t mean the past is erased and people should forget about it.

To get back to the draft itself though, Dorsey still has some time for his picks to develop, but cutting Russell and Hogan before the season even started wasn’t a good sign. Jones has looked solid though and Ehinger was on his way to a nice season before getting injured.

This draft should end up being a pretty good one.
