Ugly: Offense Before Final Drive and Overtime

Remember how I said the no huddle offense was good? Well, the offense before that moment was absolutely horrendous.

The Chiefs had one offensive play for over 20 yards in this game. That will not win you football games.

The run game was doing nothing, Smith was dinking and dunking his way to third and longs, and Travis Kelce was dropping a majority of the passes thrown his way.

Also – Where is Chris Conley at? Is he still on the team? Why is Albert Wilson still on the team (he did have some good blocks, I guess)? Where did Jeremy Maclin go? I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS.

I was listening to 610 Sports on Monday morning and Josh Klinger had said an interesting stat during the 9:00 segment. Apparently the longest play the Chiefs had on the day was 21 yards. That’s it! Twenty-one measley yards.

The Chiefs had one offensive play for over 20 yards in this game. That will not win you football games. I don’t understand how the Kansas City Chiefs continue to win week after week with little to no offense, but hey… Maybe this will finally be the wake up call to get the offense moving on a regular basis and not just in crunch time.

I doubt it though.
