KC Chiefs Vs Denver Broncos: Rating the Match-Ups
Defensive Line
Last year, the Broncos had one of the most vicious defenses NFL fans had laid eyes on. They’re not as scary this season, but a lot of that is due to Malik Jackson and Danny Trevathan taking their talents elsewhere.
On the defensive line, the Broncos will have Derek Wolfe, Sylvester Williams, and Jared Crick. These guys have accounted for seven and a half sacks combined and will be a huge challenge for the Chiefs offensive line to hold.
Wolfe was injured in the Broncos’ last game against the Saints, but he should be healthy enough to play this weekend. Should he not be ruled okay, Billy Winn will get the start.
Kansas City’s front three are pretty banged up. Jaye Howard has been ruled out already, meaning that the Chiefs will send out Chris Jones and Rakeem Nunez-Roches as the starters. Both guys have filled in nicely, and at times, we forget they’re backups.
Jones has been a tremendous rookie this season though and it’s nice to see him get some playing time.
Even with the confidence in the backups, I’m still going with the Broncos here.
