Aaron Rodgers

Green Bay Packers

Well, here is an interesting proposal for Kansas City Chiefs fans. Somehow, a quarterback controversy has developed in Green Bay. Aaron Rodgers has become a pariah over the past few weeks, despite the fact he is top ten in the NFL in passing yards and touchdowns. Meanwhile, the Green Bay front office is currently embattled over recent personnel decisions. Could this be a perfect storm?

Yes, this is a pretty unlikely scenario to work out for the Chiefs. However, it could be that the Packers are ready to rebuild and start over. If that is the case, even Aaron Rodgers would be up for grabs. There is even talk that the locker room wants him gone. Of course, don’t get it twisted, the Chiefs would be paying a pretty penny to make this kind of a deal happen.

Financially, trading for Rodgers wouldn’t be that big of a deal. If the Chiefs are moving on from Alex Smith, the trade off is pretty minimal. In fact, Smith could even be a part of the trade compensation to help pay the price. However, that is kind of doubtful. No, the real price here is in trade compensation. The Chiefs would have to give up quite a bit for Rodgers.

Whatever the price tag is though, the Chiefs would be getting one of the all time greats at the quarterback position. Aaron Rodgers has a history of making mediocre receivers look great. That alone should make him an attractive option for KC. This has very little chance of playing out, but if the Packers continue to fall apart, anything is possible.
