AFC Playoffs 2nd Seed: New England Patriots (8-2)

Even if the Kansas City Chiefs win out for the rest of the season, there is a good chance they will still be looking up at the New England Patriots. The Pats started the season off very strong, despite not having star quarterback Tom Brady on the field. With Brady back, they look almost unstoppable.

The Patriots have a pretty direct remaining path to the playoffs. With the Dolphins, Broncos, and Ravens the only teams remaining with winning records, it seems unlikely that New England could be any worse than 11-5. That would still give them a great shot at winning the AFC East.

New England is the prohibitive favorites to grab the #1 overall seed in the AFC. However, this position could be up for grabs if they drop a game. There are enough teams just a game behind that the Pats lead simply is not safe. The Kansas City Chiefs are among the teams with a good shot at unseating them.
