Third Down: Chiefs Are Done!!!

It doesn’t take long for Kansas City Chiefs fans to assume the worst. It’s kind of understandable with the history of the franchise. However, one would think that recent seasons had given rise to hope. That is apparently not the case though. Chiefs fans quickly fell off the wagon on Sunday, proclaiming doom and gloom once again.

It’s kind of interesting and humorous to see such a reaction from a team that is 7-3 and had just won five straight. Oh sure, there will be plenty who say “it was the way we lost”. Oh, bull. The complaints weren’t coming out when the Chiefs were winning. It’s the fact that they lost that mattered, not how they lost. No matter what the game was like, fans would be assigning blame and overreacting. It’s what fans do.

"Remember when we acted like the Chiefs were a contender with Alex Smith?"

I like this one because not only does it say the Chiefs are out of contention, it also assigns blame to Alex Smith. Smith probably had one of the better performances on the day for the Chiefs. He may have thrown a bad interception, but he also put two touchdowns on the board for the Chiefs. You kind of have to take that into consideration. Oh, plus the whole “we’re still 7-3” thing.
