The Kansas City Chiefs are looking to continue their five game winning streak this week. However, they may have to do so with limited help from key players.

When the Kansas City Chiefs take the field this week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, it will be a bit short-handed. The team is already short a number of starters like Jamaal Charles, Allen Bailey, Josh Mauga, Paker Ehinger, and Justin March. However, they may be down several more key players this week.

The hardest hit part of the team is the defensive line where both Dontari Poe and Jaye Howard were on the injured list this week. The Chiefs are deep at this position group, but still need some bodies. Adding to the issue is that backup Kendall Reyes is also dealing with an injury issue. That leaves the Chiefs with only a few defensive linemen that are completely healthy.

Apart from the defensive line though, the Chiefs are dealing with injuries for a number of key players. Wide receiver Jeremy Maclin, cornerback Marcus Peters, and linebacker Derrick Johnson are all dealing with injuries as well. Maclin is already declared out. Peters and Johnson both look to be limited this week, if Peters plays at all.

That is a lot of star powere that the Kansas City Chiefs will either be without, or be significantly limited. This is where we find out just how good a job John Dorsey has done in building up this franchise. The test of a General Manager isn’t how good he is at finding star talent, it is how good he is at replacing that talent. This week will test that for the Chiefs GM.
