Can Alex Smith Rebound

Simply put, the Kansas City Chiefs need to get more from Alex Smith than they did last week. It’s no stretch to say that Smith struggled in his first game back. Granted, there was likely some rust to shake off and nerves to calm, but it was still a bad performance. With the Chiefs schedule about to get a lot tougher, Smith needs to rebound.

The Buccaneers are a good team to get back on track against. The Bucs struggle defending both the run and the pass, which means the Chiefs playbook should be wide open. While they should feature the run game, Andy Reid needs to also give Alex Smith a few cracks at getting his rhythm back.

The Chiefs will need Alex Smith on top of his game when the playoffs come around. So far this year, Smith hasn’t really seemed to be at that point. We have definitely seen him play better. Re-establishing his connection with Travis Kelce and Jeremy Maclin is especially important. Smith needs to take advantage of this match up.
