Bad: Wide Receivers

Look, I get that Jeremy Maclin was out this week, but jeez the wide receivers were atrocious on Sunday. Aside from Tyreek Hill, no one was doing anything in the passing game for the Chiefs, and it was embarrassing.

The biggest problem for the receivers this week were all of the drops. I lost count of how many times a receiver dropped a ball or just couldn’t catch the football. Ross Travis had a big drop on third and goal in the fourth quarter, but Smith should have connected on the two plays before that for a touchdown.

Smith having a bad day was brutal enough, but the receivers really weren’t doing him many favors.

If this team wants to make it to a Super Bowl, their receivers are going to have to step up and make plays. They’ll have to make plays whether Smith is having a good day or a bad day.
