Bad: Kicking Game Is A Mess

It’s hard to win in football without a reliable kicking game, as the Missouri Tigers have found out this season.  The string of poor kicking continued this week in Columbia as both Mizzou kickers missed the mark.  Granted, the six points would not have made up the final deficit, but it is still frustrating for the team.

Putting points on the board is simply a must in sports.  The size of the lead will often directly affect the play calls of the coaching staff.  Had Mizzou been down only four points on their final drive, they may have taken a different strategy.  It’s impossible to know now.

What is known is that the Tigers will have to seriously address their Special Teams unit in the offseason.  The kicking game, in particular, will have to be much better in 2017 if there is any hope of rebounding.  Surely there is a soccer player somewhere this team can borrow.
