Does The Defense Continue To Dominate?

Over the past few weeks, the Kansas City Chiefs defense has been lights out.  During the current three game winning streak, the Chiefs have shut down two of the top five offenses in the league.  Derek Carr, Drew Brees, and Andrew Luck have all struggled against the Chiefs in recent weeks.  That is impressive.  Against a struggling Jacksonville offense, KC should be even better.

The big difference for the Chiefs has been the emergence of the pass rush in recent weeks.  After a very slow start, the KC pass rusher have begun to make their presence felt.  That culminated in last week’s performance when the Chiefs tallied six sacks, including three and a half from Dee Ford.

Getting pressure on the quarterback is the best way to disrupt an offense, and it often causes turnovers.  That is another area where the Chiefs have seen improvement.  Marcus Peters has five interceptions on the year.  It’s enough that Carr, Brees, and Luck all avoided him in their matchups.  With Bortles being prone to throwing picks, who knows how this will play out.
