Kansas City Chiefs: Five Things To Watch Vs Jacksonville Jaguars
By Ben Almquist
The Kansas City Chiefs return to Arrowhead this week to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars. Here are the five things for Chiefs fans to watch.
A three game win streak since the BYE week has many pundits believing in the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs are heading home to host the struggling Jacksonville Jaguars this week. KC opened as a two score favorite this week, which really isn’t surprising. Of course there is some concern as the Chiefs are banged up, but there is still reason to be very confident.
Last week against the Indianapolis Colts, the Chiefs seemed to be unfazed by the rash of injuries happening all around. As Alex Smith, Spencer Ware, and Parker Ehinger all went down, KC continued to push and dominate. It was a real testaments not only to the depth of the roster, but the character of the team. That’s how good teams respond to adversity.
The Chiefs will have to keep that up this week. All three of the starters injured last week will miss the game on Sunday. Fortunately for the Chiefs, that may not matter as their opponent seems to be imploding. The Jacksonville Jaguars have struggled all season long, and now appear to just be going through the motions.
That doesn’t mean the Chiefs can take it easy this week. Any opponent in the NFL is still dangerous and can put up a good game. Andy Reid needs to ensure that his team comes out even more focused this week to overcome their losses.
