Parker Ehinger To Injured Reserve
It wasn’t long ago that Kansas City Chiefs fans were calling for Parker Ehinger to be benched after a poor preseason game. Since then, the rookie guard has earned the trust and respect of Chiefs Kingdom with his quality play. So there was much concern when he went down against the Colts. That concern was realized yesterday when it was announced Ehinger had a torn ACL.
The promising young offensive lineman will now miss the rest of the 2016 season. It is a setback for his development, but also for the Chiefs offensive line. KC will turn to Zach Fulton to fill in for Ehinger. Fulton is a capable backup, though his reliability comes into question when asked to play multiple games.

The future is still bright for Parker Ehinger. That is the upside here. Also, leg injuries are often less of a hinderance for linemen than skill position players. Ehinger won’t be making a lot of sudden cuts or hard plants on his leg, so he should be ready for the 2017 season. Unfortunately, the situation for Jamaal Charles is far more uncertain moving forward.
