Chiefs Sign Bishop Sankey
The Kansas City Chiefs began the 2016 season with an interesting situation at running back. Superstar back Jamaal Charles was still recovering from offseason knee surgery. Now Spencer Ware is also out with a concussion. On top of that, Knile Davis was traded away to Green Bay. That left just Charcandrick West as a full time back. So the Chiefs added Bishop Sankey for depth.
Bishop Sankey has had an odd career. The young back had a productive start to his career in Tennessee. However, his playing time decreased dramatically when Mike Mularkey too over the head coaching job. Sankey was eventually released and ended up on the Patriot Practice Squad before the Chiefs snatched him yesterday.

The third year back has shown the ability to run the ball fairly effectively. He is also adept as a receiver out of the backfield. Those elements of his game actually make him an ideal fit for the Chiefs offense. Sankey will need to learn quickly though as the Chiefs biggest need from him is in the immediate future.
