Kansas City Chiefs: Black Tuesday Leaves Chiefs Kingdom Shocked

Chiefs Promote Terrance Smith
Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Ramik Wilson appears to have secured the starting role with Justin March on IR. However, that still left the question of who would be backing him up. With Sam Barrington and Sio Moore both being released, that question was even more prominent. Apparently that job will belong to Terrance Smith as he was called up from the Practice Squad.
Terrance Smith had a pretty good preseason both in camp and in game action. His call up is actually a pleasant surprise for Chiefs fans. That is especially true in light of his being chosen over a pair of veterans with real game experience. It says a lot about the work Smith has put in to improve his game.

This is the kind of development that Chiefs fans have come to expect at inside linebacker. The Chiefs have done a very solid job of developing players. Josh Mauga, Ramik Wilson, DJ Alexander, Justin March, and now Terrance Smith have all shown progress under Bob Sutton and Gary Gibbs. This kind of depth is extremely important, as Chiefs fans have seen at other positions.
