Potential Landing Spots for Morales – Number 1: Boston Red Sox

With David Ortiz (Big Papi) retiring from Major League Baseball, the Boston Red Sox are now in need of a designated hitter for their highly successful franchise.

Morales could get a big contract and go to a team that would utilize him in his preferred spot and a team that could win games.

The Red Sox used to be one of those cursed teams, but that curse was broken in 2004 when they took down the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series. They also won another title in 2007 and another in 2013.

That alone would be incentive for Kendrys Morales to want to go to Boston. They know how to win and they can afford the highly touted free agents on the market. Why would a guy want to go play for the Tampa Bay Rays or Oakland Athletics when he can sign with Boston for a ton of money and play for a winning team?

This is the option that would make the most sense. Morales could get a big contract and go to a team that would utilize him in his preferred spot and a team that could win games.

The Red Sox won the American League East this past season and is always a threat to make it deep into the postseason. While no one will be as good as Ortiz, Morales isn’t too much of a step down for the Sox.
