Potential Landing Spots for Morales – Number 5: Kansas City Royals

All right, I’ll say it! I do think the KC Royals have a shot at bringing back their guy Kendrys Morales in 2017.

This could just be me coming down with a case of “wishful thinking”, but it ain’t over till it’s over.

While the odds aren’t great, the Royals took a chance on Morales in 2015 by giving him a two-year deal after he really didn’t deserve that kind of contract.

He resurrected his career in Kansas City to the tune of 30 home runs in 2016 and winning the Silver Slugger Award the year prior.

Morales also won his first World Series ring with the Royals and got to experience something that all major leaguers dream of.

While baseball is a business and you can’t expect guys to put their hearts into their decisions, Morales might decide to take that $16.2 million qualifying offer and stay in the city that turned him back into a slugging designated hitter.

This could just be me coming down with a case of “wishful thinking”, but it ain’t over till it’s over. Until I see Kendrys Morales put pen to paper for another team, I’ll have faith that he could return to the Kansas City Royals for the 2017 season.
