KU Basketball: Five Bold Prediction for Jayhawks This Season

KU Basketball Bold Predictions Number Three: Carlton Bragg Jr. and the High-Low Offense
Calton Bragg Jr. may prove to be the best fit Bill Self has recruited for his High-Low offense.
The lanky sophomore is athletic, runs the court well, can shoot the 15-foot jumper, and can nail some shots from beyond the arc.
He is also a good passer, which is the key. If the big men on the block, most likely Landen Lucas or freshman Udoka Azubuike, can seel their men off down low, Bragg will be able to deliver the ball to them in a position in which they can score.
Calton Bragg Jr. may prove to be the best fit Bill Self has recruited for his High-Low offense.
If fact, Bragg might just be a triple threat at the “high” position in this offensive set. He can, shoot, pass, or take the ball to the rim off the dribble.
If he can improve his ball handling, he will make it very difficult for opponents to guard him.
He is replacing Perry Ellis, who could shoot well enough and even drive from the free throw line in this offense. The departed Ellis wasn’t the most effective passer from this set, however.
Because of Bragg, this team may turn out to be the best High-Low offensive team Self has enjoyed since the days of the Morris twins. If Bragg can put it all together this season, he may end up as one of the team’s top two or three scorers.
