Next week the KC Chiefs will hit the road and head to Indianapolis for a date with Andrew Luck and the Colts.

The Colts are a team that have had Kansas City’s number over the years. Chiefs fans look at the Colts as major rivals despite not being in their division and Indy not viewing KC as a rival.

This will be the first visit the Chiefs have made to Indianapolis since their playoff implosion in the 2013 season. I’m sure you all need reminding of that, but hey… Have the booze ready because you just KNOW they’re going to show “highlights” from that playoff game 80 million times next week.

For the time being, however, let’s celebrate the fact that the Chiefs defense held a future Hall of Fame quarterback in check… Well, sort of.

Brees threw all over the field, but at the end of the day, Kansas City held the Saints to 21 points and they’ve typically been putting up over 30 points. That’s pretty big.

Things that need to improve are the pass rush and the run defense. The secondary has been hit or miss, but part of that is that Phillip Gaines hasn’t been healthy. He’s a bigger key to the defense than many would have thought before the season began.

Kansas City currently sits at 4-2 on the year while Oakland and San Diego both won their games on Sunday too. Denver plays on Monday night, and it’s beginning to become even clearer that the AFC West is the toughest division in all of football this season.
