Ugly: Run Defense

The KC Chiefs got a taste of their own medicine this week, as the Saints figured out that Kansas City’s defense could not stop the run. Brees handed the ball off 22 times and those three running backs combined for over 100 yards rushing.

You know it’s bad when the Saints run on you, as they have not been a team known for their run game this season.

Mark Ingram gashed the Chiefs the most, with 16 carries for 62 yards while Tim Hightower had five carries for 39 yards and fullback John Kuhn had a carry for three yards. There were no rushing touchdowns, but Ingram did have a receiving touchdown.

With tough running backs down the stretch, the Chiefs run defense needs to figure something out because the Saints are NOT a team that runs the ball well. They looked like a good rushing team on Sunday though.
