Now with the defense out of the way, I moved onto the scariest part of the New Orleans Saints team: Drew Brees and that high-powered offense.

LO: Drew Brees has established himself as one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game. What type of game will he have against the Chiefs secondary and what kind of game can we expect to see from the young receiving corp?

BH: I think Brees will have his typical game, 300 plus yards and 2 or 3 TD’s, but I see him getting picked once or twice as well.

I think the obvious key match-up for the Saints WR’s will be Brandin Cooks going one-on-one with Marcus Peters. It’s a classic match-up, featuring two of the most talented young stars at their respective positions in the entire League.

I think Peters will “shut down” or severely limit Cooks’ production; but this Saints WR corps is arguably one of the best in the franchise’s entire 50-year history — meaning Brees and head coach Sean Payton will find ways to get the ball to their #2 WR Willie Snead or #3 WR and rookie sensation Michael Thomas; and still move the ball effectively.

Hard to disagree with the stuff on Brees. He’s a world class talent and he’ll be licking his chops at these young Chiefs defenders in the secondary.

I disagree with Peters shutting down Cooks though. Peters has been known to give up some big plays this season and last, and I won’t be shocked to see Brees go after him early and often, just like Ben Roethlisberger did a few weeks back.
