K-State football won their first conference game of the season with an impressive victory over the Texas Tech Red Raiders. The beginning of the game seemed destined for a shootout, but the defense settled in in the second half.

How ’bout them Wildcats?!

The Kansas State Wildcats needed to redeem themselves after a sloppy loss in Morgantown last week against West Virginia. K-State football did indeed redeem themselves, and it came against one of the best offenses in all of college football.

Texas Tech was entering Saturday’s match-up with a blowout win against Kansas in their rear view mirror. They also were questioning whether or not star quarterback Patrick Mahomes would be able to take the starting snaps.

Mahomes did indeed start for the Red Raiders, and he had one hell of a first half. He rushed for three touchdowns and also tossed for one.

We’ll get to more on Mahomes later, but first, let’s get to the first grade on this week’s report card!
