The KC Chiefs are heading into their week five bye with a 2-2 record. There have been some good and some bad with the team in their four games so far, but let’s take a look at some of the positives through four games.

This season has been a bit of a rollercoaster so far for the Kansas City Chiefs. They’re 2-2, but could easily be 1-3 or even 3-1 at this point in the season.

Their week one thrilling overtime victory against San Diego showed that the offense and defense can both hang with a high-scoring team, but we haven’t seen that fire from Alex Smith or the offense since then.

The Texans and the Steelers both shut the Chiefs down pretty well defensively. Those games hurt, but the Chiefs did manage to blowout the Jets in week three.

Let’s check out some of the positives to emerge from the team in the first four weeks of the regular season.

Chris Conley

Chris Conley was a third-round draft pick last year and underperformed as a rookie in 2015. This year, the former Georgia Bulldog won the second starting wide receiver job and has already looked better in the role than he did a season ago.

In just four games so far, Conley has almost racked up more receiving yards than he did during all of 2015. Last year, Conley had 199 total receiving yards and he’s already at 172 through four games this season.

With Alex Smith and Jeremy Maclin seemingly not on the same page in three games so far (they looked okay in week one), it’s important that Conley continue to step up and be a reliable guy for Smith to throw to.

Conley needed to prove himself this season, and so far he’s done pretty well. All he needs now is a big catch and run, and a bunch of trips into the end zone.
