Kansas City sports have been a hot topic of conversation in this area over the past few years. Freezing Cold Takes, a humorous Twitter account, has had its fair share of encounters with Kansas City sports, all as hilarious as the next one.

The Kansas City Royals trailed the Houston Astros 6-2 in the top of the eighth inning in Game 4 of the ALDS on October 12, 2015. Already down two games to one, the Royals were six outs from exiting the playoffs without a World Series championship for the second straight season.

Then CBS Sports NFL reporter (and supposed Baltimore Orioles fan) Jason La Canfora tweeted this:

The problem for the Astros — and Royals hater La Canfora — was Kansas City eventually scored five runs in the inning and left Houston with a 9-6 victory. Three weeks later they made the New York Mets look like the Bad News Bears in the first half of the movie, earning their first World Series since 1985.

It’s a shame the Twitter account Freezing Cold Takes (@OldTakesExposed) did not exist then.
