The KC Chiefs now sit at 2-1 on the season and are tied for second place in the division with the Oakland Raiders. Next up… A Sunday Night Football date with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Ooh boy. Next week could be quite ugly, as the Steelers are coming off a sloppy loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in what could be described as an “ass whoopin'”. The Steelers are going to be pissed off, and they could very well take that anger off on our Chiefs.

Simply put – The Kansas City Chiefs offense is going to need to play much better this season if this team wants to be in contention for the Super Bowl. One offensive touchdown a game is not going to cut it.

Yes, it’s great to see the defense hasn’t taken as many steps back as I thought they would this year, but the offense HAS to be better.

Smith needs to show that fire he had in the first game of the season, and maybe Reid needs to let him be himself on the field. It felt like Smith was being handcuffed in this game with the play calling. He’s a good quarterback and deserves the freedom to display that.

With the first comfortable victory in the books this season, the KC Chiefs need to keep the momentum up because they still have some tough games ahead on the schedule.

Pittsburgh, here we come.
