Bad: Spencer Ware fumble

Before last week’s game in Houston, Spencer Ware hadn’t lost a fumble since he was in high school (they said that on the broadcast). In the last two games, however, he’s had two.

The Chiefs had first and goal on the New York one-yard line and Ware took the handoff and appeared to have made it into the end zone. Unfortunately, it turned out that he had fumbled the football and therefore, it led to a Jets touchback.

Had Ware held onto the football for the touchdown, the Chiefs would have been up 24-3 (assuming the extra point would have been good) and the game would have virtually been over with in the third quarter.

Instead, the Chiefs sat with a 17-3 lead and forced their defense to hold the two touchdown lead. Fortunately, the defense had a very good outing on Sunday, but this fumble could have led to a momentum change for the two teams, with the Kansas City Chiefs on the short end of the stick.
