Fourth Down: Tyreek Hill Is Exciting

It seems as though contentious Kansas City Chiefs draft pick Tyreek Hill is starting to win over Chiefs Kingdom.  That will happen when you are an electrifying player on the field, and Hill is that.  Chiefs fans have already seen the big play ability that Hill offers, as he is a threat from anywhere on the field.

However, Tyreek Hill has a lot to learn about playing wide receiver in the NFL.  That is reflected in a number of ways.  The first is in his snap counts.  Hill saw only 12 snaps on offense this weekend.  That tells us a lot about what the Chiefs think.  The other is just in watching Hill play.  Yesterday, Tyreek Hill averaged more yards on punt returns than kick returns…and not because he unleashed a huge punt return.  There are still a number of kinks to work out.

"Can tyreek hill become Antonio Brown? Similar set of skills."

No, man.  Just…no.  This is why we can’t have nice things.  Look, Tyreek Hill is a lot of fun to watch play, but Antonio Brown is a next level wide receiver with Canton written all over him.  Hill and Brown may match up in terms of athletic ability, but that is where the comparison ends.  Brown is an elite route runner and understands that portion of the game.  Hill is a converted running back who isn’t even the starting slot receiver yet.  Calm yourself.
