Will Alex Smith Trust His Wide Receivers Other Than Maclin?

Through the first two games of the season, Chris Conley has been a non-factor for the Kansas City Chiefs offense. The wide receiver from the University of Georgia may not have earned enough of the quarterback’s trust yet.

Conley’s caught six passes for 58-yards and zero touchdowns this season for the KC Chiefs. To make matters worse, Conley hauled in two passes for 15-yards against the Texans last weekend.

Without a reliable number two receiver, Alex Smith can’t get this offense going. The offense will not score as many touchdowns due to the defenses keying in on the running game with Travis Kelce and Jeremy Maclin double teamed.

Alex Smith must see what kind of weapon Chris Conley is against the Jets this weekend. The Jets have great receivers. This could be a higher scoring game if the Jets’ offense gets it going like they did against the Buffalo Bills last Thursday night.

Kansas City must throw the football better and to more receivers to create plays for the offense and keep it from being one-dimensional. If the Chiefs do this, they have a good chance of winning the game against the New York Jets at Arrowhead Stadium come Sunday afternoon.
