KC Chiefs VS New York Jets: Rating the Match-Ups
Linebackers
Until Justin Houston returns to action, it’ll be tough for me to put the KC Chiefs linebackers ahead of anyone. Dee Ford isn’t showing signs of first round talent (though he has gotten a little better) and Tamba Hali isn’t even playing in half of the snaps.
The Jets’ inside linebackers are Erin Henderson and David Harris. Henderson left last week’s game early due to a sprained joint in his foot. If he’s not good to go, rookie Darron Lee will take his place.
New York’s outside linebackers are Jordan Jenkins and Sheldon Richardson. Richardson is a familiar name around these parts, as he played college football at Missouri and was a first round pick in 2013.
Jenkins is uncertain for Sunday’s game. If he can’t play, the backup to him according to the Jets’ official website is former Chief Mike Catapano. I didn’t even know he was still in the league.
Sheldon Richardson alone gives any linebacking corps the edge in a match-up. With no Houston for at least another four weeks (though probably more), I give New York the advantage here.
