Quarterback

Alex Smith or Ryan Fitzpatrick?

This one is actually tougher than some people would think. Ryan Fitzpatrick is the type of guy who can ball out and throw the football all day long. He’s had success against the Chiefs in the past, but a lot of those victories came when he was with the Bills back in the day.

Alex Smith, on the other hand, is a former number one overall pick. Unlike Fitzpatrick, Smith isn’t known for his ability to throw the ball down the field. He’s a mobile quarterback and one that typically tends to play it safe.

Fitzpatrick has jumped from team to team over the years for a reason. He tends to have a few really good games and then will drop off significantly afterwards.

While Smith had a rough week last week, not all of the blame can be placed on him. The offensive line didn’t offer him any protection and the wide receivers slept through most of the game (or so it seemed anyway).

Some people who probably prefer to have Fitzpatrick on their team, but I’m going with Smith as the better quarterback of the two. Fitz tends to be the type of quarterback who throws critical interceptions at the worst possible time.

We don’t see much of that from Smith, which is why he’s the guy I’d rather have.

Fitzpatrick has jumped from team to team over the years for a reason. He tends to have a few really good games and then will drop off significantly afterwards. Remember when Buffalo gave him that huge contract and then dropped him not even halfway through it? There was a reason for it.

Smith should hopefully bounce back this week and when he does, he’ll be everyone’s hero once again.

Advantage: Kansas City
