Special Teams

I always hate doing the special teams section because I don’t really follow other teams’ special teams action. All I know is that Cairo Santos has been great so far this season and was the MVP in last week’s game in Houston. Without Santos, the Chiefs have no points in that game.

Tyreek Hill would have added six points had Steven Nelson not gotten called for a penalty (or the defender “flopped” if you ask Andy Reid), which shows that there can be a spark on this special teams squad for sure.

Pro Football Focus actually ranked the Chiefs as one of the best special teams units in all of football before the season.

Nick Folk, New York’s kicker, has missed one extra point attempt and one field goal attempt so far this season while Cairo Santos is still perfect. I’ll take that and the PFF review as a way to tilt the glass in our favor.

Advantage: Kansas City
