Overtime: Hot Takes From Around The League

While the Kansas City Chiefs were subject to some major hot takes this week, the rest of the league kept pace.  There were some scorching takes from around the league, especially for some of the better teams in the league.  Hey, it’s football, and hot takes are now a staple of the game we love.

"Good news Chiefs fans. Ryan Fitzpatrick owns Kansas City. 4-1 against them lifetime, 2-1 in Arrowhead."

Oh Clay, Clay, Clay…context is important buddy.  The context here is that Ryan Fitzpatrick has only faced the Chiefs once in the Andy Reid era.  That was a loss…at Arrowhead.  So in reality, Ryan Fitzpatrick’s success against the Chiefs came under the previous regime when the team was not playing well.  Glad I could clear that up for ya.

"Turnover after turnover for the Packers. Huge win for the Vikings. Color me concerned about state of this GB roster"

Jason La Canfora has legitimate NFL contacts that help provide him insider information.  Good thing.  If he had to make a living off of his analyst chops, he wouldn’t get very far.  R-E-L-A-X.  This is probably the best example of a hot take out there.  We KNOW the Packers are good.  We expect them to win.  So when they don’t, everybody has to panic.  It’s really kind of funny…until you’re talking about a professional in the sports reporting industry.  Then it’s as sad as the Baltimore Orioles playoff performances the past few years.

Next: Kansas City Chiefs: Good Bad and Ugly Vs Houston Texans

The Kansas City Chiefs played a bad game of football, offensively.  Mental mistakes were the big killers against the Texans.  Yet, the Chiefs were still in striking distance late in the game.  In fact, KC had a huge opportunity to steal some momentum and make a run with a Tyreek Hill kickoff return.  Of course, that was called back for a (questionable) penalty.  The Chiefs are 1-1.  That’s hardly call to blow everything up and start rebuilding.
