The Kansas City Chiefs played an ugly game and ended up losing to the Houston Texans this Sunday.  Of course that means there were plenty of hot takes floating around the internet.

There is no denying that the Kansas City Chiefs played a pretty bad game of football this week.  Especially on offense, where almost every kind of mistake possible was made.  Despite multiple missteps, the Chiefs still kept it competitive with a legit playoff team in the Houston Texans.  However, you’ll have a hard time explaining that to many fans.  The takes were piping hot yesterday, and I’ll run down some of the best.

For those of you who don’t know, a “hot take” is a large generalization or overreaction based on limited information.  Sports are one of the preeminent targets for hot takes, and the NFL especially.  Fans, analysts, and media talking heads can’t wait to weigh in on the big topics.  That, of course, leads to an awful lot of bad opinions being thrown across the internet.

Yes, you see them everywhere.  A big name player signs with a team, and suddenly they are Super Bowl favorites.  A quarterback throws an interception, and now he’s the worst to ever play the game.  Defense gives up a touchdown?  They can’t stop anybody.

Hot takes are always at their hottest following a loss.  Fans are angry, many are less than sober, and Twitter is right at their fingertips.  Whenever your team loses, you know you are going to hear some ridiculous assertions.  It’s just the way things go with sports.

So let’s take a look at some of the best hot takes from this past Sunday.  I’m not going to embarrass anyone directly.  However, I will be using actual quotes from Twitter regarding the game.  If you recognize your handiwork, or that of someone else, don’t worry the secret is safe with me.  Just remember that I’m watching…
