June Streaks

The competition improved and the Royals went on the road. It wasn’t a good combination. A trip to Clevland, Baltimore, and Chicago yielded a brutal eight-game freefall.

In six of those games (all in a row), the KC Royals plated one run or less, scoring four total in that stretch. Things looked bleak.

BOOM!

That was the sound of Kendrys Morales coming out of an early season slump in June. After their eight-game debacle, they came roaring back behind Morales.

They promptly won five in a row, and eight of nine, to nearly negate the previous cold streak.

Unfortunately, they couldn’t maintain much momentum. A four-game losing skid followed, launching a stretch where they go 13-26 over nearly a month and a half.

This portion of the schedule included two four-game losing streaks and one six-game skid. The Royals never won more than two in a row, and they looked dead a week into August.
