New York Jets

Last Match-Up: Chiefs 24 – Jets 10 (2014: Week 9)

After a tough road game in Houston, the Kansas City Chiefs will return home to face the New York Jets in Week 3.  This will present a tough match-up not just because the Jets are a talented team, but because NY will have three extra days to prepare.  Fortunately, the Chiefs will be at home where the crowd noise can play a role.

The Jets are a team to be concerned about.  The defense is very capable with some excellent talent.  However, it is the offense that concerns me.  While Ryan Fitzpatrick isn’t an elite quarterback, he is a smart one and has two very dangerous weapons.  Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker match up pretty favorably against the Chiefs secondary.  That will be a tough battle.

Hopefully the Chiefs can find their pass rush by this game.  Tamba Hali should be back in a more prominent role.  The defensive line, especially, needs to be in sync by this week.  If the Chiefs can generate some pressure, they should be able to fluster Fitzpatrick into making mistakes.  If not, he could pick them apart.
