Houston Texans

Last Match-Up: Chiefs 30 – Texans 0 (2015: AFC Wild Card Game)

The Kansas City Chiefs go on the road this week to take on the Houston Texans.  For the Chiefs, this is the first of a rough stretch of games.  For the Texans, this is a shot at revenge after getting shellacked by KC in the playoffs at home last year.  Don’t think for a second that it is just coincidental that JJ Watt is going to be “100%” for this game.

The Chiefs absolutely owned the Texans in 2015.  Both on opening day and in the playoffs, Kansas City was just clearly the better team all around.  However, that was then and this is now.  The Texans are expected to be a much better team this year.  I can’t say that I am entirely sure as to why though.  Neither Lamar Miller or Brock Osweiler strikes me as a game breaker.

I expect the Chiefs to be able to pull this game out.  Probably not another 30-0 beating, but it should be a win.  A lot of Chiefs fans are concerned about the status of the defense coming into this week.  However, the Texans do not present a huge threat offensively.  The Chiefs defense should be able to contain Houston.
