Fourth Down: Alex Smith Is The Best!!!

For all the hate and vitriol Kansas City Chiefs fans were spewing early on, that certainly changed after the game.  Hey, that will happen when your quarterback calls his own number on 3rd and goal and scores to win the game.  Alex Smith went from pariah to savior almost instantly.

Smith knew it too.  Credit to CBS for putting the cameras on him to catch an almost never before seen passing from the vet quarterback.  Smith was running across the field, screaming in celebration.  To be quite honest, I thought it was Travis Kelce at first glance.  Twitter wasn’t far behind Alex in their reactions.

Well, that was quick.  I thought we were supposed to be booing Smith even louder?  Wasn’t he about to throw an interception?  Now he apparently bathes in the suffering of Philip Rivers.  Look, I’ve been a fan of Alex Smith at the helm of the Chiefs.  He is certainly a better quarterback than many will admit to.  However, let’s not get out of hand with Smith suddenly on pace for huge numbers.
