First Down: Alex Smith Is The Worst!
We can start with an easy one. Kansas City Chiefs starting quarterback Alex Smith is always in the crosshairs for a hot take. Smith is often tagged with the backhanded compliment description of “game manager”. The inference being that a game manager is not good enough to lead their team to victory.
The Chiefs got off to a slow start on offense, that included a couple of miscues on Smith’s part. That opened the door for the “Smith haters” to chime in and declare Alex Smith insufficient to help the team win. Here’s a take from a consistent detractor of Alex Smith…

Well, we all know how this story ends. Alex Smith would end up running the ball in himself to score the game winning touchdown. In fact, Smith didn’t just lead the Chiefs to the biggest come from behind victory in team history. He was also one of the top scoring quarterbacks in Fantasy Football from this past weekend. Not too shabby for a “game manager”.
