Young Corners

The Kansas City Chiefs have invested heavily in cornerbacks over the past couple of years.  However, that investment has come heavily in the form of young prospects.  Currently, the Chiefs do not have any cornerbacks with more than three years of experience.  While the players KC has collected all show talent, there isn’t much experience.

On the other side of the field, the San Diego Chargers tout one of the best veteran quarterbacks in the league.  Philip Rivers is an elite quarterback, and he is very adept at reading defenses and attacking flaws.  Rivers will test the Chiefs young quarterbacks early on.

The pressure will be on Marcus Peters and Phillip Gaines especially as they will line up against the best outside weapons SD has.  We know that Peters has the talent to get the job done.  Gaines has shown some quality ability in the past, but the pressure is on now.  Peters and Gaines need to have a stand up performance this week.
