Justin Houston – Physically Unable to Perform list

The Kansas City Chiefs base much of their defensive strategy on pressuring the quarterback.  In a 3-4 defense, that usually means the outside linebackers are the focus.  That would normally be the case in KC, but things have not worked out ideally.  First there is the injury status of Justin Houston who will miss at least the first five games on the PUP list.  Then you have an aging Tamba Hali and a disappointing Dee Ford left to rely on.  Not optimal.

A Lot Of Depth:  There are concerns with the Chiefs starters for 2016, but the same cannot really be said of the depth chart.  Frank Zombo, Dezman Moses, and Dadi Nicolas all look like they can fill in certain roles.  It’s just that none of them are every down starters.

When Does Houston Return?:  The biggest question in Kansas City sports right now involved the return of Justin Houston.  Where there was once optimism, Chiefs fans now have reason to doubt.  At the very least, Houston will miss the first five games of the season on the PUP list.  That will be a difficult hurdle to overcome for the Chiefs.
