Kansas City Chiefs: Breaking Down The 53 Man Roster
By Ben Almquist
Wide Receiver
Jeremy Maclin, Chris Conley, Albert Wilson, Tyreek Hill, Demarcus Robinson, and DeAnthony Thomas
Cut – Da’Ron Brown, Mitch Mathews, and Seantavius Jones
Traded – Rod Streater
The Kansas City Chiefs have struggled to get production from their wide receiver corps over the past…well, a long time. However, this year the Chiefs are showing some continuity, and that is a good sign. The Chiefs are apparently happy enough with their young group of wide receivers that veterans Mike Williams and Rod Streater were expendable.
Rod Streater Traded: For a while now, there has been a lot of debate over whether or not Rod Streater would make the Chiefs roster. I, for one, have believed for a long time now that the Chiefs were going to let him go. The writing seemed to be on the wall as soon as Chris Conley secured the #2 wide receiver position.
Will Young Guys Step Up?: The Chiefs are putting their faith in a young corps of wide receivers. Apart from Jeremy Maclin, there isn’t a single receiver on the team more than two years of experience. That is certainly a risk, but there is a ton of potential and talent there.
