Missouri Tigers: 2016 NCAA Football Season Preview
By Ben Almquist
Low Expectations
Between all of the Missouri Tigers issues of the past year and what was essentially an overhaul of the football program, it is tough to be excited about Mizzou football in 2016. That isn’t to say the Tigers will just roll over and play dead all year. I expect this team to fight…I just don’t expect them to win a lot.
A tough road schedule, a tough conference, and a rebuilding team just doesn’t spell success. The important thing for the Tigers in 2016 is to keep fighting and show some stability behind their new coach and athletic director. Stability is the key to being able to recruit well for the future and attract transfer players to help in the interim.
On the field, the Tigers should produce a few quality players for the 2017 NFL Draft. There will be some very good individual performances. However, the team and program as a whole just are not poised to be good in 2016.
Prediction: 4-8 (6th in SEC East)

The Missouri Tigers are firmly on the precipice of college football irrelevancy right now. They have the tools needed to climb back to the top of the SEC East, but it will be a tough road. Mizzou will have to put in some major work in repairing the public image of both the school and the football program. There is very little room for error.
