Demarcus Robinson

Of all the players the Kansas City Chiefs selected in the 2016 NFL Draft, Demarcus Robinson may be the most exciting for me.  The rookie out of Florida has genuine starting receiver talent.  Robinson was only available in the 4th round because of behavior problems early in his college career.  Otherwise, Robinson’s talent level would have led to him being drafted much earlier.

Despite Robinson’s high potential, expectations should be relatively low for the 2016 season.  KC has three returning players making up the starting group, which means Robinson will be competing for snaps with fellow rookie Tyreek Hill.  Robinson also still has some developing to do as a receiver before taking on a major role.

Some fans aren’t sold on Demarcus Robinson yet, and that’s fine.  He is still a rookie and is currently playing a depth role, so there haven’t been many opportunities.  When those chances come however, I am very confident in Robinson’s ability to take advantage.

All in all, the future looks bright for the Chiefs at wide receiver.  Kansas City has a lot of young talent in the group and I expect the Chiefs to play into that.  The Chiefs might not become a high-flying offense overnight.  However, we can see the organization moving towards the offense Andy Reid is known for.
