Albert Wilson

The Kansas City Chiefs always seem to have one Training Camp underdog who catches the eyes of Chiefs Kingdom.  In 2014 that was Undrafted Free Agent Albert Wilson from Georgia State.  Wilson would eventually win over the coaching staff in 2014 and became the starting receiver opposite of Dwayne Bowe at the end of the year.

Wilson would keep the starting “X” job in 2015, though fans didn’t have the same appreciation for what he managed to put together on the field.  While it is understandable that the fan base wanted more from Wilson, the simple truth is that he showed the kind of development that should be expected from a second year player (though he really didn’t have a full first season).

Albert Wilson has rotated between the “X” and “Y” (slot) positions this offseason, and has seemingly settled into that slot receiver role.  This position does play to his talents more and he will get better matchups against defensive backs as a result.  This further stymies Rod Streater who has been getting the reps at this spot with  the second and third team offenses.
