Chris Conley

The Kansas City Chiefs second year receiver out of Georgia had himself one of the best Training Camp performances of the entire roster.  Chris Conley seemed to make big plays on a daily basis while the Chiefs were in St Joseph.  For Chiefs fans, that culminated in the preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams when he and Alex Smith connected for a huge pass play.

Conley’s development really shouldn’t come as a huge surprise.  He came into the league with all of the raw tools you could really ask for in a deep ball receiver.  In 2015 Alex Smith nearly connected with Conley on a number of occasions, but their timing had not yet developed.  That appears to have changed.

Chris Conley appears to be firmly seated as the Chiefs #2 (or X) receiver.  Conley began Training Camp with the 1st team offense and has never looked back.  All indications are that the Chiefs intend to keep him on the outside.  That already limits the value of Rod Streater and Mike Williams (now released) to the team.
