Will The Run Defense Struggle?
Kansas City Chiefs fans watched in horror last week as LA sent a string of running backs tearing through the defense. It was more reminiscent of 2014 than last season, and had some fans again calling for young players to be sent packing.
To be honest, I can’t say I am that worried about the run defense. Simply put, Kansas City has way too much talent in the front seven for what we saw. Between Dontari Poe, Allen Bailey, and Jaye Howard, it is hard to imagine opposing backs having success. However, stranger things have happened.

~ LB Derrick Johnson on the defenses performance.
I expect a return to normalcy in week three. Chicago does not have the same caliber running game as Los Angeles. Plus, I believe Bob Sutton will get his defense back to playing to their strengths. Against LA, the Chiefs defensive line was attacking the backfield instead of their gaps. The Chiefs are trying to generate a pass rush from the defensive line. We should see a change this week.
