Potential September Call-Ups – Number 11: Alec Mills

Alec Mills briefly spent time with the KC Royals in May and didn’t have the best showing. He appeared in one game and gave up one hit and one run in 0.2 innings. That game gave him a 13.50 ERA.

Mills hasn’t been great in Omaha either, sporting a 5.28 ERA in nine starts and ten total appearances. Northwest Arkansas has been where he’s shone, pitching 12 starts with a 2.39 ERA in 67.2 innings pitched.

The fact that Mills has already been called up to the big leagues once is likely why he’ll rejoin the team in September. This will be good for Mills, as he has the tools necessary to be decent, just needs more experience on the mound.

Hopefully, Alec Mills does get the chance to step out onto the mound at the K and prove himself. He could end up being something special for the Royals.
