Potential September Call-Ups – Number 4: Reymond Fuentes

Reymond Fuentes was with the Royals for the first few weeks of the season due to Jarrod Dyson being on the disabled list, but since then, he’s spent all of his time in the minors.

Appearing in only 13 games with 41 at bats, Fuentes was slashing .317/.364/.341 and knocked in five RBI. He certainly wasn’t anything flashy, but Fuentes was a decent outfielder and showed patience at the plate.

In Omaha, Fuentes is slashing .250/.323/.308 in 63 games with no home runs. He’s not a power hitter, but he has ten RBI and has stolen 17 bases during his time with the Storm Chasers.

It was a little disappointing that Fuentes didn’t get much of a chance to prove himself as the season went on, but again, a large part of that is due to the variety of outfielders that are in the minors.

With Cain and Gordon back in the fold and Dyson and Orlando platooning in center (not to mention Burns hanging out in the clubhouse as well), there wasn’t much use for a sixth outfielder.
