Potential September Call-Ups – Number 6: Scott Alexander

Scott Alexander saw some time with the Royals this season, appearing in nine games and leaving the majors with a 4.85 ERA. Alexander gave up 15 home runs over that time and struck out 11 batters.

The 27-year old pitcher who the Royals took in the sixth round of the 2010 MLB Draft also pitched for the big league club last season. He had a 4.50 ERA in four appearances.

Alexander has a 2.79 ERA in 21 relief appearances for the Storm Chasers, including one save. He’ll add some bullpen depth and should be able to come into the game for an inning or maybe to record an out or two.

He’s not the flashiest, but Alexander will be someone the Royals call up in September.
