Trade Partners

Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles should be a ready and willing trade partner for the Kansas City Chiefs.  In fact, I would be surprised if the numerous relationships between the two organizations doesn’t result in some kind of a deal this year now that Chip Kelly has been sent packing.  The Eagles could definitely use a running back right now.

Currently the Eagles are relying on the unreliable Ryan Matthews and the 33 year old Darren Sproles in their backfield.  That is a less than ideal situation given their list of current quarterbacks, including rookie first round pick Carson Wentz.  The Eagles need a steady running back who can help take the pressure off of whoever is starting under center.

The Eagles may not make this deal until Ryan Matthews gets hurt.  Philadelphia GM Howie Roseman certainly won’t want to give up any future assets unless he has to.  However, if the Eagles do wait and Matthews does get injured, that could jack up the cost on Charcandrick West.  The Chiefs certainly don’t HAVE to trade or cut him at this point.

The Kansas City Chiefs have a number of moves they can make with their roster over the next couple of weeks.  While trading Charcandrick West might not be popular with a lot of fans, it is certainly a move that could bring a larger return to the team.  However, there is no pressing need for the Chiefs to trade or cut West.  The staff has clearly factored him into the future plans of the Chiefs organization, so keeping him on the roster is not a hindrance of any kind.
